Burgers, such as the juicy Tavern Burger, are crafted with care, delivering mouthwatering, well-seasoned bites every time.

For those who love something a bit more indulgent, the Half Rack of Ribs promises fall-off-the-bone tenderness, drenched in a rich, smoky glaze, while the house-smoked wings, available traditional or smoked, offer deep layers of flavor with perfectly balanced heat from their variety of sauce choices. The Crab Cakes stand out with jumbo lump crab meat harmonized by ribbons of chipotle and citrus aioli, perfectly bright and creamy. And don’t overlook the delightful sides — Cheese Curds ooze with melty goodness and the Fried Plantains add a subtly sweet contrast to the smoky dishes.

Oak and Embers Tavern also excels in its creative beverage selection, which has become a highlight for many patrons. Signature cocktails like the Blackberry Basil Lemonade, blending Jim Beam Black with fresh strawberries and basil, offer a vibrant, refreshing experience, while the Suffering Bastard mixes Knob Creek bourbon with Tanqueray gin and ginger ale for a sophisticated yet approachable sip. Bourbon lovers find joy in flights featuring smokes and smooth notes, such as Blanton's, and the Kentucky Mule refreshes with its zesty, spicy kick.

Repeatedly praised by visitors, the tavern’s infectious friendly service and welcoming vibe make every visit memorable. Regulars like Rob Meisel highlight the consistent quality and the attentive, sweet-natured staff—even remembering server personalities months after their visit. Dasha Cole's experience with live karaoke nights reveals Oak and Embers as an excellent social hub where great food complements lively entertainment and great company. And while some guests mention the premium pricing on certain items like the ribs, many, including Drew Indiano, accept the cost because of the generous portions and exceptional quality.

This review is a few months after our actual dinner. My friend, Barry, and I ate dinner here back on August 2, on their patio. We both ordered their smoked meat plates (I think we both had a half rack of their baby back ribs). The food was very good, as always. Our server (I can't remember her name, but it might've been Anna) did a very good job - sweet personality. I've never had a bad meal here. I will say that I always order one of their smoked meat plates. Those maybe the best deal on the menu. I'm surprised to see some negative reviews.

The ribs were crazy expensive. $43 for a full rack. That being said, everything was very good. Good portions and quality. The nacho toppings were plentiful.

We stopped in here for a quick lunch and were pleasantly surprised. It was a Saturday but not overly busy which made for a nice meal. The drinks were ok. The food was better than we expected. And the Beef Brisket sandwich….be ready for a ToGo box. Its massive. Overall we liked the place and food was solid.

We have eaten here a few other times so I'll give a cumulative review. I do love the menu. Every time we've eaten here the food is very tasty. Their cornbread is delicious! Atmosphere is rustic and tavern feel. I like it. The reason I'm giving a 4 is yesterday. We had to wait longer than 20 minutes for our food and when it finally arrived my husband's steak was overcooked and my sweet potato fries were cold. We still ate it and it tastes good. The manager was very accommodating by offering to comp part of our bill and gave us a gift card for a future return visit. So, they really care about their customer's experience and we did appreciate it. I still recommend eating here.

My first time in will not be my last. The food and atmosphere was Great but what really made it the best night out was the server Ava M. She was happy, polite, fun and we never wanted for anything. When I go back I will make sure she is working and she is my waitress... nobody can top her!! Thank you Ava!
